Model predictive control-based direct torque control for matrix converter-fed induction motor with reduced torque ripple

نویسندگان

چکیده

To reduce the torque ripple in motors resulting from use of conventional direct control (DTC), a model predictive (MPC)-based DTC strategy for matrix converter-fed induction motor is proposed this paper. Two new look-up tables are proposed, these derived on basis electromagnetic and stator flux using all feasible voltage vectors their associated switching states. Finite set (FCS-MPC) has then been adopted to select optimal state that minimizes cost function related torque. Finally, experimental results shown verify reduced performance MPC-based method.

Matrix Converter Induction Motor Drive Employing Direct Torque Control Method

The presented paper deals with the implementation of the Switching Table Based Direct Torque Control (ST-DTC) in the matrix converter-fed induction motor drive. In order to improve the control of the matrix converter input power factor, the use of the simplified Indirect Space Vector Modulation (ISVM) was proposed. To verify the feasibility of the proposed solution, experimental results were pr...

A Comparative Study on Predictive and ISVM Direct Torque Control Methods for a Doubly Fed Induction Machine Fed by an Indirect Matrix Converter

This paper presents a comparative study on the Predictive Direct Torque Control method and the Indirect Space Vector Modulation Direct Torque Control method for a Doubly-Fed Induction Machine (DFIM) which its rotor is fed by an Indirect Matrix Converter (IMC). In Conventional DTC technique, good transient and steady-state performances are achieved but it presents a non constant switching fr...

Torque Ripple Minimization Strategy for Direct Torque Control of Induction Motor Using Fuzzy Scheme

The direct torque control (DTC) speed control scheme of an induction motor surpasses the vector control in the sense that it controls the torque directly and does not use transformations and current modulator. In the traditional direct torque control (DTC) of induction motor, the low order harmonic component of stator current is very large when the motor is running at low speed. It leads to hig...

Torque and Flux Ripple Reduction of Direct Torque Control for Induction Motor Using Intelligent Technique

The aim of this paper is reduction of torque and flux ripples in transient and steady state response of Direct Torque Control (DTC) for Induction Motor drive using intelligent technique. This proposed control to improve the torque, speed and flux response will be achieved with the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) DTC than the Conventional DTC (CDTC). In this paper DTC system using ANN is success...

Direct Torque Control for Induction Motor Drives: A Model Predictive Control Approach Based on Feasibility

In this paper, we present a new approach to the Direct Torque Control (DTC) problem of three-phase induction motor drives. This approach is based on Model Predictive Control (MPC) exploiting the specific structure of the DTC problem and using a systematic design procedure. Specifically, by observing that the DTC objectives, which require the controlled variables to remain within certain bounds,...
